Coffee, food and tools: A recipe for sucess

With just under a week to go until the inaugural Newcastle Overnight ride we thought we would post up a few developments that have made us smile.

Firstly, the friendly folks at York Lane, are offering a free pre-ride coffee to anyone who wants to stop by on Saturday night. The meeting spot and start point is still Observatory Hill, but we will probably be popping in for a little extra caffeine around 8pm. It is a great chance to check out this little cycling hub and meet some of your fellow riders.

Secondly, the prolific providores at Mana from Heaven have provided crates of delicious brownies, granola bars and flapjacks that our very own tea lady will be dispensing road side, hopefully when you need them most. These guys do a bunch to support various cycling events and we cant imagine anything better to munch on en-route.

Thirdly, the great guys at Omafiets Dutch Bicycles, have donated a dozen Park Tools Rescue Wrenches. These great little tools will go out to the first 12 people we hear about (via email or on the night) who have assisted their fellow Newcastle Overnight riders in dealing with any sort of repair, flat or mid-ride crisis.

Cheerio!
